Cincinnati Christian University is fully committed to the Word of God and providing the highest quality education possible. We are a school that always has, and always will be, committed to training and sending Christian leaders into the local church and the world. In order to accomplish this mission, we must remain loyal to our historic purpose and be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us. The Board of Trustees takes seriously our calling to preserve this institution we dearly love.
We have spent the past six months evaluating the university’s future and charting a course for our long-term viability. The result is an aggressive, multifaceted plan that significantly restructures our entire organization. We have identified the recurring financial impediments from previous decades and are prepared to make the decisions necessary to overcome these obstacles.
Today some members of our faculty and staff were informed that their jobs are being eliminated. The decision to release any employee is always painful. Today was not an easy day for anyone who loves CCU, and all of the decisions have been made with prayer and a commitment to the school’s historic mission. As is standard, we will provide assistance to them during this difficult time. These faithful Christian workers have devoted decades of service to CCU. Join us in praying for them, their families, and their futures.
To our students, alumni, and supporters: we ask for your faith and prayers. Pray for our students who continue to pursue God’s calling for their lives. Pray for our faculty and staff during this season of transition. Pray that the Lord will bless our search for the university’s next president. And pray for CCU, our historic institution with an eternal purpose. Pray that all of our people will rally around the school that they love, fight to maintain unity, and proceed with the attitude of Christ.
