Alumni Awards

The CCU Alumni Association sponsors three annual awards for Alumni: Distinguished Alumni Award, Excellence in Ministry Award and the Alumni Encouragement Award.

The Distinguished Alumni Award began in 1982 to recognize outstanding life-long ministry, loyalty to Christ and support of our alma mater. The Distinguished Alumni Award used to be presented each year by the Alumni Association President at the Commencement Service in May.

It was decided that we would move this award to the fall event for alumni. Plaques with the names and inscriptions describing the ministry for each recipient are on display in the upper hallway of President’s Hall. The complete list of Distinguished Alumni is below.

The Excellence in Ministry Award began in 2003 and is given to alumni who have been out of school less than 15 years and have demonstrated outstanding success in ministry. The award is given during the evening worship service of the annual Alumni Reunion program and is presented by the Alumni Association President. The complete list of the Excellence in Ministry Awards is below.

The Alumni Encouragement Award began in 2012. It is a monetary award of an amount designated by the Alumni Council. It is given to an alumnus who wishes to begin a new ministry, significantly expand an existing ministry, or pursue further education to prepare for a specific ministry focus/goal. The recipient will be asked to provide an update of progress after one year. The award will be presented by the Alumni Association President during a chapel service during the winter semester.
