Cincinnati Christian University is excited to announce changes in the school’s Athletic Department.
Beth Rogers has been appointed as the new Athletic Director. Rogers is a 2005 graduate of CCU. She has been employed with the university for 10 years, operating the CCU Bookstore and overseeing Campus Services. For the past year, Rogers has served as staff liaison over the Athletic Department.
Joshua Snyder, who has served as Athletic Director since the summer of 2013, will continue to serve as Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball team but has been appointed to the position of Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Snyder, who most recently taught at Dayton Christian High School, is a 1996 graduate of CCU and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Olivet Nazarene University in 2006.
Kellen Zawadzki, the Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball team, has been appointed to the position of Assistant Athletic Director. A 2011 graduate of Huntington University, Zawadzki led the Golden Eagles to their first ever NAIA tournament appearance in 2014.
Last week, the Athletic Department announced the addition of Men’s Baseball and Women’s Softball programs as NAIA sports for the 2015-2016 academic year. John Taylor has been named Head Coach of the baseball program while the search for the women’s softball coach is still ongoing. CCU has also launched an exploratory committee to investigate the possibility of adding football as a varsity sport.
Concerning these changes, President Ken Tracy said, “I am thrilled about the direction of our Athletic Department. Extracurricular activities are important to attracting today’s college student, and athletics is a key part of our strategy to enhance campus life. I am confident that Beth Rogers will provide the leadership that our Athletic Department needs in the years to come.”
