Faculty Member in English

Cincinnati Christian University invites applications for a full-time (9.5-month) faculty position in the area of English to begin in the Fall 2017 semester.  The position will be housed within the School of Arts & Sciences and will involve teaching in the areas of composition and developmental English.

Primary responsibilities include teaching four courses a semester.  Secondary responsibilities would include academic advising and committee assignments.


The applicant should possess a master’s degree in English.   Preference may be given to one who possesses (or is currently pursuing) a PhD in English or a related field. The applicant should have demonstrable competence in classroom instruction and show promise for continued pedagogical excellence. Experience in teaching online courses, accelerated-format courses, and developmental courses will be considered.  In addition, successful candidates must demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to CCU’s distinctive Christian mission and must be able to sign the university’s Statement of Faith for employment purposes, as posted on the university webpage.  Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

Salary and Rank:  Will be commensurate with educational level and experience.

Proposed Starting Date:  July 1, 2017, is the effective contract date, and August 1, 2017, is the reporting date for a candidate hired for the Fall 2017 semester.  The position will remain opened until filled.
