College Degrees

Students can work towards one of the four-year Bachelor’s or two-year Associate’s degrees in a range of Arts and Professional disciplines, depending upon the career path they’ve chosen. Cincinnati Christian University is a collection of Colleges and Schools and students pursue their degrees in the college or school that reflects their career interests.

Please note: The difference between a BA and a BS is the addition of biblical languages (Greek and/or Hebrew) to the BA degree whereas the BS degrees do not have biblical language requirements.

Every undergraduate degree is designed with outcomes for CCU students to be able to:

1. Adeptly utilize modern research, writing, and technological tools.

2. Communicate effectively with Standard English in both oral and written forms.

3. Employ critical and creative thinking for problem solving, literary and socio-cultural analysis, intercultural understanding, and communication and research in the sciences and humanities.

4. Demonstrate the integration of academic insights and experiences by constructing and employing a personal framework in which ethical decisions can be made in light of societal values and a Christian worldview.

5. Demonstrate a readiness for professional employment in their field of study.

Honors Program

The CCU Honors Program as indicated with some degrees below exists to provide exceptional students with curricular and co-curricular experiences that will significantly enhance their intellectual and professional preparation. Honors students will be identified on the basis of their talent and potential, and will be pushed to go beyond the typical requirements of a Bachelors program.

Initial Eligibility
Students who meet all the following criteria may apply for admission to the Honors Program:

1. Fulfill all normal admissions requirements for a CCU undergraduate program.
2. Plan to maintain full-time status each semester enrolled (this stipulation will not apply to students whose final-semester required course load falls below full-time status).
3. Have completed not more than one year of full-time undergraduate credit (24-36 semester hours) or its equivalent at CCU, another regionally accredited university, or through AP/dual enrollment coursework. For students who have completed no more than one semester (12-18 hours) of undergraduate credit at another accredited university, eligibility will be established on the basis of high school GPA and/or ACT/SAT scores.
4. Have achieved a minimum high school or first-year undergraduate GPA of 3.5 and a minimum ACT/SAT score of 28/1840; or, a minimum GPA of 3.9; or a minimum ACT/SAT score of 30/2010.
5. Successfully complete an entrance essay and interview with representatives of the faculty of the program to which the student is applying (see below).

Exceptions to the above requirements may be made on an individual basis by the faculty of the division hosting the student’s major, in dialogue with the Director of the Honors program and the Chief Academic Officer.

This program is available in the following fields: Biblical Studies, General Ministry, Youth and Children’s Ministry, Preaching Ministry, Music/Worship Ministry, Business, Education, and Psychology. As our programs grow, so will the fields where the Honors Program will be launched.

Complete information regarding continuing eligibility, structure, privileges, application process, scholarship, and Faculty Council listing is available in the Bursar’s Office/Enrollment Services.
