MAR in Leadership Studies: Educational and Family Ministries Specialization: 54 hours

Prerequisite Degree Requirements: baccalaureate degree.

Students with extensive undergraduate work in theology or ministry programs may be eligible to shorten the duration of their 54 hour MAR degree by as many as 18 hours, thereby allowing degree completion with as few as 36 total credit hours.

Research Component (3 hours)
Research requirements may be met in one of three ways:
(1)Thesis: Petition the Department Chair to write a thesis based on research for three hours of credit. The student must follow the deadlines and procedures outlined in the “Thesis” form, which is available from the Seminary receptionist. (3 hrs)
(2) Field Research: Petition the department chair to complete a field research project. (3 hrs)
(3) CERP: Designate three credit hours of coursework in the field of concentration as a CERP course and write an extensive research paper. The student must follow the deadlines and procedures outlined in the CERP form, which is available from the Seminary receptionist. (3 hrs)
