RESIDENTIAL LIFE
“What will my roommate be like?” and “Is there
really a curfew?” are frequently asked questions regarding
living in the Residence Halls on CCU’s campus.
Because Residence Life is viewed by the College
as an integral part of a student’s complete educational
experience, students are required to live on campus and participate
in a meal plan unless they meet one of the exceptions listed in
the online Student
Handbook.
We have two women’s Residence Halls: Alumni
Hall and Rine Hall. The men reside in Restoration Hall. Each of
the halls has a unique personality. The Residence Halls are staffed
by a year-round Resident Director as well as Resident Assistants
during the school year.
Our Residence Halls are more than merely sleeping
facilities. They can more accurately be described as Living &
Learning Centers – encouraging a community of believers
in Christ, enabling life-long friendships to be created. They
are places that promote a love for the Lord, a call to service,
and accountability for one another. The rooms, most of which are
double occupancy, contain cable television hook-ups, jacks for
computer internet access, a campus telephone with voice mail system,
beds, dressers and large closets. Students are welcome to decorate
their new “home away from home” to add their own personal
touch.
Each Residence Hall contains a common area for
coed socializing. There you will find vending machines, cable
television, game tables and conversation areas.
To ensure safety for our residents, dorm codes
are required to gain entry into the residence halls. An extra
measure of security is provided by our Campus Security Staff.
And, yes, there is a curfew on campus! But it
never seems to get in the way of CCU’s residents having
fun and leading a full social life!
