About Center

The Cincinnati Christian University Department of Behavioral Sciences was established in 1992 under the direction of Dr. Vietta Keith. A division of the original Counseling & Family Studies Department, foundations for the Counseling Center began in 1993 when counseling services were initially provided on the CCU campus. Construction for offices, counseling rooms, and meeting spaces was soon completed, and the CCU Counseling Center was opened in 1994. With the 2012-2013 University restructuring, the CCU Counseling Center remains a division of the newly-formed Department of Behavioral Sciences.

Since the initial client received counseling services in 1993, over 3200 individuals, couples, and families have received counseling services at the CCU Counseling Center. Furthermore, over 26,000 individual, couples, and family counseling sessions have been conducted by MAC faculty, staff, and students since 1993. In fulfilling the mission of Cincinnati Christian University, the CCU Counseling Center provides counseling services to tri-state residents, as well as members of the campus community.

The Department of Behavioral Sciences is currently under the direction of Dr. David Brown [e-mail]. Working closely with the faculty, staff, and students, Dr. Brown administers the academic training and professional evaluation of all MAC students. The CCU Counseling Center is directed by Kristy Hardwick[e-mail], who administers the clinical training and supervision of all MAC students. All faculty and staff are dedicated to providing excellent service to students and clients.
