The evening will feature 1999 Dove
award winner, Mitch McVicker and his band - Mitch McVicker
first met Rich Mullins at Friends University. After Beaker got
married and moved away, Rich invited Mitch to join him as his
new writing/touring partner. In the fall of 1995, Mitch joined
Rich on the Brother's Keeper Tour. Two years after the beginning
of that tour, Mitch and Rich were driving to Wichita for a concert.
They had just left Chicago where they were putting the finishing
touches on Mitch's first solo album. The accident that took
the life of Rich Mullins on that fateful trip the evening of
September 19, 1997 marked the end of a relationship that Mitch
cherished, and the beginning of a long road of recovery for
Mitch, who sustained massive head injuries, as well as other
injuries.
NFL great who played for the Bengals 13 years, went to the Pro Bowl 11 consecutive years and received the ultimate NFL honor of being inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. He is considered one of the greatest offensive linemen in NFL history.
Anthony came to the campus of Cincinnati Christian University to hear Rich Mullins in concert back in the '80s. From there a friendship developed and they continued to stay in touch. Anthony has always been very active in the community using his celebrity status to support worthwhile charities and living a life which brings honor to the Lord. The Anthony Munoz Foundation engages the Tri-state region to impact youth mentally, physically and spiritually. Anthony is a friend of CCU and has spoken in chapel and at other events on campus. He will serve as emcee for the concert.
