The Passing Of Herman Lippert, Jr.

Herman Lippert Jr. (February 7, 2017)
Herman John Lippert, Jr. was born October 3, 1923 in Fellows, CA to Herman J. Lippert, Sr. and Vinetta Lippert. He graduated from Taft High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 (WWII) in the European Theater. Herman was ordained to the Christian Ministry, May 31, 1948 and married Peggy Ensor of Taft, CA, June 2, 1948. He earned his Bachelors from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1949.
Herman served the Wilkinson Church of Christ, Wilkinson, IN from 1948-1958; Rexland Acres Christian Church, Bakersfield, CA 1958-1965; Camarillo Christian Church, Camarillo, CA 1965-1971; University Ave. Christian Church, Bakersfield, CA 1971-1989. In 1993 he served with Ming Ave Christian Church, now Christ’s Church of the Valley, retiring in 2013. The Lipperts celebrated 65 years of ministry and marriage in that same year.
Herman loved Jesus and taught Christians how to love others more genuinely. He had meaningful conversations with strangers, professionals, and the guy mowing a lawn. His desire was for them to know they were valued and God had a plan for them. Herman showed the love and light of Jesus by his care and concern for people’s lives. He had a compassionate heart and was an example that one’s purpose on earth was to show God’s redemptive love and salvation through His son, Jesus.
He is survived by his wife Peggy, children, Beverly Maloney (Charlie), Michael Lippert (Dawn) and Barbara Waggoner (Allen), grandchildren, Nathan Maloney (Mandy), Michelle Maloney Amaker (Skip), Danielle Lippert, Lauren and Ryan Waggoner, great-grandchildren, Michael, William, Millie, and Henry.
The family would like to thank Dad’s caregivers at Hallmark Assisted Living, his nurses, Daisy and Lori, from Hoffmann Hospice who took wonderful care of him these past months, and the staff at Hoffmann Home.
