CCU’s third annual Greater Cincinnati Teachers of Excellence Banquet honored ten local teachers on April 23rd. Each honoree spent the evening at a table surrounded by their family, fellow teachers, principals, and superintendents. Cincinnati Channel 9 news anchor Kathrine Nero emceed the evening and the keynote address was delivered by Three Rivers Superintendent, Craig Hockenberry. Each honoree also received a $500 shopping spree from the John R. Green teacher supply company in Covington Kentucky. Additional gifts were provided by Kings Island, Cincinnati Zoo, Newport Aquarium, Kroger, Edible Arrangements, and LaRosas Pizzaria.
The event was created to honor teachers that make a positive impact in their classroom, school and community. Local principals and vice principals nominate teachers for this free event. Jackie Rosenberger, CCU Education Department Coordinator, remarked, “we want teachers to walk away from the Greater Cincinnati Teachers of Excellence Awards Banquet knowing that they’re appreciated and respected. We want them to feel encouraged as they continue to serve.”
