One Week Intensive course on the Cincinnati Christian University campus: August 4-8, 2016

At Cincinnati Christian University, students can earn 3 undergraduate hours in one week.  Usually, held the week prior to the first regular week of university classes, Early Week allows students to take one class.  A student attends class from 8am-5pm each day for five days on Cincinnati Christian University’s campus.  A final project or a test is due within a few weeks of the close of Early Week.  It’s a great way to get a feel for the rigors of college life in one week!  Activities are planned for all College Credit Plus High School Students at the lunch break by the Admissions and Student Life Departments to enhance the one-week college experience.

Course offerings for 2016 are still being finalized, but the current list includes:

MUTH 110 PRACTICAL THEORY 1 (3 hours)
A course designed to prepare practical musicians for the study of functional harmony from the perspective of application in music for congregational use. Includes fretboard and keyboard theory, and introduces contemporary popular harmonic practices. (Prerequisites: MUTH 020 or equivalent skills.)

MUTH 230 SONGWRITING WORKSHOP (1 hour)
A seminar/lab class in which all composition students and others who are interested gather for group presentations, instruction and discussion.  Includes a recording of your song at the end of the week.
