The passing of Wayne B. Smith
Today our dear friend, Wayne B. Smith, has gone to be with the Lord. Smith is best remembered as one who loved the Lord deeply and used humor to bring people together. Receiving his Bachelors degree from Cincinnati Christian University in 1952, Smith served on CCU’s Board of Trustees from 1966-1991, including two terms as Chairman. After stepping down, Smith continued serving as Trustee Emeritus to present.
Carrying on his legacy, Cincinnati Christian University’s Wayne Smith Oratorium is dedicated to preparing preachers and public speakers for ministry. There is no way to count the people Wayne has mentored through the years with his unique style of encouragement. He was a leader and innovator.
“Not only was he my pastor, he was my friend. Wayne never met a stranger. He lived a great life; we’re certainly going to miss him,” said Buddy Mossbarger, CCU Chairman of the Board.
The funeral will be held at Southland Christian Church on Wednesday, July 6, at 1:00 p.m.
