William A. “Bill/Buddy” Mossbarger, Jr. accepted Christ at 9 years of age in the Glendale Christian Church and was baptized in the Nolin River near the church. Buddy graduated from Glendale High School in 1956 as valedictorian of his class and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1961 and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1964.   He and his wife joined Southland Christian Church in 1959 and, along with most of his family, are currently members there.  He has served as an Elder, Sunday school teacher, and chairman of numerous committees.

In 1966, Buddy, along with other colleagues, established the consulting engineering firm of Fuller and Mossbarger, Civil Engineers, Inc., in Lexington, Kentucky.  He served as President and Chairman of the Board of that firm and the successor firm, Fuller, Mossbarger, Scott and May Engineers, Inc., for 35 years.  He retired in 2002, after it had grown to a 250-person firm with offices in Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky; Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; and St. Louis, Missouri.

Buddy has been a member of the CCU Board of Trustees for over 30 years, beginning his service in 1987.  Along with serving on several of the Board committees, he has served as chairman and vice chairman of the Board.  Buddy and his wife, Martha, have four children, ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.  In his spare time, Buddy enjoys playing golf, fishing, hunting, spending time on the farm, and most of all, spending time with his family.
