General Job Profile Description
• The Sr. Minster is the staff leader and only employee of which the elders have direct oversight. Accordingly, the Sr. Minster is singularly responsible to the elders for vision achievement (and collaboration in vision development/refinement), supervision of all staff matters, and the day-to-day function and operation of the church.

• First Christian Church is in the heart of Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights, with a scenic view of the Sandia Mountains. First is a multigenerational boasting a strong core of members, vibrant ministries, and a singular mission to bring Jesus to a community in need, while emphasizing the need to Belong, Connect, Grow and Be who Christ has called us to be.

Functional Competencies
– Collaborate with Elders and Ministry staff on Vision development/refinement
-Provide leadership to the congregation and work in concert with the elders, and advise and lead the staff to define, implement, and achieve the singular Vision of First
-Strategic plan for Vision achievement
-Develop and execute plans to effectively meet goals and objectives as it relates to Church Vision
-Sermon preparation and delivery – communications of God’s Word
-Full responsibility for preaching and teaching the Word
-Has well developed communication style, and is able to clearly articulate Vision, Mission and strategies which will grow the Church
-Strategic budget development in collaboration with the Elders/Finance Team
-Develop and execute plans to effectively meet goals and objectives as it relates to Church Vision
-Worship service programming and planning
-Oversee and work with Staff to ensure thought provoking and consistent Worship settings and experience
-Communication effectiveness

-Staff and ministries function within defined limitations
– Develop and execute plans to effectively meet goals and objectives as it relates to Church Vision
-Staff management, leadership and development
– Adhere to, ensure adherence by and maintain personnel manual for staff
– Organize for strategic execution and vision achievement
– Ensure staff is continually working towards same in respected areas
– Clearly define responsibilities and job expectations to staff
– Inform and be responsive to staff needs
– Conduct performance reviews on an annual basis, and as needed
– Investigate, manage, and resolve conflicts

• Shows a deep commitment to Christ and has His heart for all people.
• A baptized (immersed) believer with full understanding and support of the Scripture-based doctrine of the Restoration Movement.
• Consistent spiritual moral character and lifestyle
• Competent in organization, administration and interpersonal relationship
• Strong record of biblical and expository preaching
• History of faithful ministry experience of at least five years and proven leadership in an outreach minded church
• Computer proficient, able to relate to and participate in social media in a manner that promotes, engages, and encourages the congregation and others receiving the message
• Ordained or eligible to be ordained in the Christian Church


Minimum Educational Background
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent
• Masters in Divinity preferred
