Summary
The Student Involvement Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the student experience is enhanced through campus events for all student divisions, creation and coordination of student groups, and administration of the spiritual development plan for traditional undergraduate students.

Essential Duties & Functions
Performance reviews of the Student Involvement Coordinator will be based on the fulfillment of the following tasks.

    • Plan and develop a variety of strategic monthly student Tier One events to ensure student interest and engagement
    • Oversee the planning and execution of tiers two and three events implemented by the Student Activities Board (SAB)
    • Work in conjunction with entire Student Services staff  to plan and implement New Student Welcome Weekend activities
    • Communicate and promote student events in conjunction with the Student Services Administrative Coordinator
    • Facilitate and advise the election of the Student Government and any initiatives put forward by the group
    • Assist in planning Student Government meetings
    • Attend Tier Two/Three events to assist SAB as needed
    • Participate in training student leaders to effectively engage and encourage the entire student body
    • Plan and execute events that support commuter engagement
    • Maintain applications and records of student led campus clubs/groups
    • Coordinate and track the traditional undergraduate Spiritual Development Plan
    • Organize and maintain Student Life equipment and supplies
    • Operate within the guidelines of the Student Involvement annual budget
    • Insure that strategic and missional initiatives identified by the university president are accomplished to the fullest possible extent. In every context and with all constituencies, articulate full support for the university’s mission and the President’s vision.
    • Respond to all communications from faculty members, department Chairs, students, and all other CCU employees and constituencies in a timely and professional matter.
    • In all contexts, create and promote a healthy administrative and campus culture characterized by free and open disclosure, a spirit of Christian love and grace, and genuine respect.
    • Participate on committees as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    • Ability to supervise and train students in event planning and execution
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
    • Ability to promote and enhance a team atmosphere
    • Ability to manage conflict when necessary
    • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals
    • Ability to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize work flow patterns and schedules
    • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
    • Ability to prioritize and demonstrate discernment
    • Ability to drive school vehicles; personal vehicle may be needed on occasion

Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend and twist
    • Must be able to reach high and low levels
    • Must be able to climb stairs and step stools
    • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs

Work Environment:

    • Moderate noise level with background noise
    • Must have flexibility in availability, including nights and weekends
    • Professional and student friendly

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of the mission of CCU and the ability to demonstrate an active faith in Christ
    • Ability to relate well with students and other employees
    • Exhibit trustworthy behavior and be able to maintain confidential information
    • Ability to organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines
    • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field required
    • Master’s degree in College Student Personnel or Counseling preferred
