Applying for Aid

  • Apply for admission to Cincinnati Christian University. You must be accepted for admission before any aid may be disbursed to your student account.
  • Contact the Admissions Office regarding eligibility for institutional scholarships.
  • Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as possible after January 1. The results of this application will determine your eligibility for federal and state aid. You may submit the FAFSA electronically and sign it using an FSA ID which can be requested at If you are a dependent student, your parent will an FSA ID, too.
  • If requested, submit federal tax forms and other financial information or documentation to the Enrollment Services Office for verification.
  • The Financial Aid staff will mail you an Award Packet informing you of your aid eligibility for the school year. This eligibility will be based on the results of your FAFSA. Review your financial aid award and contact the Enrollment Services Office with questions. If you wish to decline any of the aid listed, make the appropriate indication on your Award Letter and return it to the Enrollment Services Office.
  • If you are borrowing in the Federal Direct Loan Program, carefully follow the instructions outlined in your Award Packet. All student borrowers must visit to complete Loan Entrance Counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN).
  • Students who are awarded Federal Work-Study should complete the Student Worker Job Skills and Interest Form and return it to the CCU Human Resources Office.
  • CCU has established standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress to encourage students to complete courses for which financial aid is received. A student whose cumulative grade point average and/or rate of completion fail to meet the minimum standards will be placed on one year of Financial Aid Probation. Failure to meet the required minimums after the probationary period will result in Financial Aid Suspension.
