As an Associate Professor of Biblical Studies in the Foster School of Biblical Studies, Arts & Sciences, Tom Vollmer teaches courses on the New Testament (Synoptic Gospels and Acts), hermeneutics, and contemporary theology. His scholarly interests revolve around historical and
social scientific interpretations of the New Testament, New Testament Theology, Constructive Theology, and Contemporary Theologies. He has published articles and books related to biblical
studies and hermeneutics.
Tom holds a PhD from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in Theology with an emphasis in New Testament exegesis. Internationally, he is a member of the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature. Tom has been serving as a member of the faculty of CCU since 2013. Prior to coming to CCU, he pastored two churches in Ohio, and
served in college ministry in Belgium.
